6-Layer Verification

Every user and driver passes all six checks before their first trip.

Government ID Verification

Every user verifies a government-issued Aadhaar ID via DigiLocker before using the platform. This grants the coveted Verified User Badge.

Live Selfie Match

A one-time liveness check matches your selfie against your ID photo to prevent identity fraud. Required for all drivers and recommended for passengers.

OTP-Bound Phone Number

Your phone number is permanently bound to your account via OTP verification. Any number change triggers a full two-factor re-verification.

Driver Licence & Vehicle RC

Drivers submit their DL and Vehicle RC, both validated in real time against the Vahan government database before the first ride.

Background Clearance Check

A certified criminal background check is run for all drivers before they can accept their first ride, with periodic re-checks.

Active Insurance Verification

Drivers must maintain valid vehicle insurance. CoRide supplements this with Ride Insurance Coverage active on every confirmed trip.

Track your ride live on the map from pick-up to drop-off. Deviations from the AI-matched route are flagged immediately.

One-Tap SOS Button

Press SOS to instantly alert your emergency contacts, CoRide's safety team, and — if unacknowledged within 60 seconds — local police (100/112).

Share Ride Status

Tap 'Share Ride Status' to send a live tracking link to any trusted friend or family member. The link auto-expires when the ride ends.

Masked Voice Calling

All in-app voice calls between riders and drivers use number masking — your real phone number is never revealed to the other party.

Encrypted In-App Chat

Messages between co-passengers are encrypted in transit and automatically purged 7 days after the ride concludes.

Ride Insurance Coverage

Every confirmed CoRide trip includes Ride Insurance Coverage for passengers against accidental injury during the ride — at no extra cost.

Two-Way Ratings

Every ride ends with a mutual rating. Consistent low ratings trigger a safety review. Verified Badges give riders and drivers extra trust signals.

Eco Score Tracking

Track the carbon footprint you avoid with each shared ride. Your Eco Score grows with every trip, reflecting your positive environmental impact.

Rider Safety Tips

  • Always verify the driver's name, photo, vehicle number plate, and Verified Badge before getting in.
  • Use Share Ride Status to send a live tracking link to a trusted contact before every trip.
  • Prefer the back seat for rides with an unfamiliar driver.
  • Use Women-Only Ride for added comfort and security when travelling alone.
  • Trust your instincts — if anything feels wrong, press SOS immediately or call 112.
  • Keep your phone charged so the SOS button is always accessible during a ride.
  • Rate every ride honestly — your ratings help keep the community safe.

Driver Safety Tips

  • Never pick up passengers outside the app — all rides must be confirmed through CoRide.
  • Keep your Driving Licence, RC, and insurance documents current and uploaded in-app.
  • Do not drive while fatigued, under medication, or after consuming alcohol.
  • Follow the AI-matched route. Unauthorised deviations are flagged by our monitoring system.
  • Enable your Women-Only Driver badge if you wish to serve the women-only ride category.
  • Report any safety incident immediately through the in-app Incident Reporting tool.
  • Maintain a high rating and active Verified Badge to improve your Ride Compatibility Score and matching priority.
